About Ariya

Events people are glad to show up to

Ariya sells tickets for events in Nigeria. It is built for the kind of gathering you hear before you see: the music, the cloth, the people arriving.

The name

àríyá

noun, Yoruba

an event; a celebration.

We kept to that one meaning. It is what we are for.

What we believe

  1. People who come should not need an account

You want a ticket, not a password. Give a name and an email and the ticket is in your inbox.

  2. Hosts should be paid directly

Money is split when the payment clears and goes to the host's bank account. Ariya does not sit on it.

  3. Prices should be plain

Naira, with the fee shown before you pay. The price you see is the price you pay.

  4. The door should work

A ticket carries a signed QR code and works once. Check-in is a phone and a PIN, with no hardware.

What Ariya will not do

  • Hold a host's money.
  • Ask people who come to make an account.
  • Show your email to anyone but the host of the event you registered for.
  • Sell your details or run advertising.
  • Take payment inside an embed on someone else's site.
